Jorgensen spent less per vote in 2020 campaign

Jo Jorgensen, the libertarian nominee for president in the 2020 election, spent about $18.20 less per vote she received than president-elect Joe Biden in the presidential contest, according to calculations based on data from Open Secrets.

Open Secrets is an online organization dedicated to the publishing of open records relating to politics.

Jorgensen, who spent $1.46 during her campaign for every vote she received compared to the Biden campaign’s $19.68 for every vote, also had considerably fewer votes than Biden.

Soon-to-be-former President Donald Trump, by comparison, spent about $14.82 in campaigning for every vote received.

Jorgensen spent much of her campaign traveling the country and hosting rallies online, pushing for recognition on ballots in every state.

Jorgensen did not win any states in the 2020 presidential contest and won less of the vote than Gary Johnson in 2016, taking 1.2% compared to Johnson’s 3.3% nationwide.
